Semester Long Internships

These internships consist of academic credit for full-time, semester-long internships in conjunction with academic work. Planning for a semester off-campus involves collaboration with faculty and staff far in advance. You should seek advising as early as possible by scheduling an appointment with Erin Mahoney. Requirements for an independently-designed off-campus internship are set out below.听

Semester Long Internship Info

  • Number of weeks required: 14-16 weeks

  • Number of hours required: 30-35 hrs/week, 420-490 hrs/semester

  • Type of credit earned: UNIV 298- Internship Readings (1 credit) and UNIV 299- Independently Designed Internship (2 credits)

  • Many of the approved for 色狐入口 credit integrate internship participation into their missions or offer internship components. to review available programs.听

  • Finally many students enrolled in classes on campus also participate in part-time, on-campus semester internships through specific departments at 色狐入口, or volunteer at a professional organization.

Summer Internships聽

色狐入口 students most commonly do internships during the summer. The Hubbard Center is also available for one-on-one advising appointments to assist you with your summer internship search, and workshops are offered to learn about effective internship search strategies. Summer internships can meet the Extended Studies requirement by meeting a minimum of 140 hours. Visit to submit a secured internship.

To count your internship for Extended Studies during any term, complete the following steps by the deadline prior to the term: Priority Deadline June 1st

  • Select 鈥淓xperience Type: Summer Internship鈥 and then the appropriate Term
  • You must have a complete application for consideration: (1) the Handshake Experience, (2) an updated resume, and (3) a Liability Release Form, which becomes available under Resources once they've submitted the Experience.

Winter/May Tern Internships

You may pursue career exploration opportunities as a chance to learn more about career options in a given industry and build on professional skills, goals, and knowledge in a meaningful way. Many opportunities are available through , or you may develop opportunities through networking. Workshops and advisers in the Hubbard Center are here to help you through the process.

Micro-Internships

  • The Hubbard Center for Student Engagement has partnered with Parker Dewey to provide students and recent alumni with opportunities to take part in short-term, professional, paid work experiences through Micro-Internships.

  • Through short-term, paid, project-centered experiences, students can demonstrate skills, explore career paths, and expand their professional network. Unlike a traditional internship, these paid opportunities typically range from 10 to 40 hours of work, and are deadline-driven as opposed to set during specific hours - perfect for students with erratic or hectic schedules!

  • These short-term internships serve as the introduction to the employer to the quality of work, knowledge, communication skills and work ethic of the intern. They can potentially lead to summer internship opportunities and full-time jobs.
